Description
A building material with thermal and sound insulation properties. It is manufactured by bonding two (or three) panes of glass together using a high-strength, highly airtight composite adhesive, along with an aluminum alloy frame containing a desiccant. This material is widely used in indoor air-conditioned environments such as residential buildings, office buildings, and hospitals, as well as in windows and doors of vehicles. Hollow glass is primarily employed in buildings that require heating, air conditioning, noise reduction, or condensation prevention. Its thermal insulation performance can reach 20% to 40%; when filled with argon gas or equipped with Low-E coatings, its thermal insulation efficiency can be enhanced to over 60%.
Energy transfer through insulated glass is accomplished via the glass and the air inside. The thermal conductivity of glass is 0.77 W/m·K, while that of air is only 0.028 W/m·K. The sealing performance directly affects its thermal insulation efficiency.
