Tempered glass is classified into physical tempered glass and chemical tempered glass, depending on the tempering method. According to the shape of the glass after tempering, it can be divided into flat tempered glass and curved tempered glass. Based on the degree of tempering, it is further categorized into ordinary tempered glass, semi-tempered glass, and ultra-tempered glass. By usage performance, it can be classified into ordinary tempered glass, coated tempered glass, and laminated tempered glass, among others.
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass. In fact, tempered glass is a kind of prestressed glass. To enhance its strength, chemical or physical methods are typically employed to create compressive stress on the glass surface. When the glass is subjected to external forces, these stresses at the surface are first counteracted, thereby increasing the glass’s load-bearing capacity and improving its resistance to wind pressure, temperature extremes, and impact. Note that tempered glass should be distinguished from fiberglass.
